After, stunningly, he comes across a stranger he hasn't yet befriended, Capybara promptly serenades the unfamiliar sloth with a "new friend" song. When the sloth registers no reaction, nervous Capybara despairs that there must be something wrong with him, but the sloth finally descends from the tree and reveals that he was never reluctant, just naturally slower. A reassured Capybara realizes that perhaps he doesn't need to work quite so hard for his friendships and that his friends love him no matter what. It's a truly funny story, with an adorably anxious protagonist in Capybara, but it also manages to pack in some big messages about friendships and boundaries beyond the surface goofiness.
