Summary
Groot is back - smaller and better than ever! When the Guardians of the Galaxy get caught in a wormhole, a pint-sized Groot finds himself out on his own, billions of light-years away from his team, on an entirely alien and unknown world full of strange creatures and societies. Seriously underdeveloped and with nobody who can understand him, Groot will need to make the journey to the center of this world if he is to find the way back to his family! COLLECTING: I AM GROOT 1-5
Published Reviews
Booklist Review: "In this series, poor Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy fame is still a pint-size tree, and he's feeling misunderstood. When he accidentally travels to a different dimension via a black hole, he has to fight his way back to his fellow space travelers, which is tough, given his limited vocabulary (I am Groot). This series is a nice blend of superheroes and science fiction, with lots of fast-paced action panels. Groot is, as always, a sympathetic character, made more so here by his size, though he portrays more childlike spunk than in other related works. Hastings' text is full of wit (particularly panels with Buddy, the disembodied dog's head), though some text reads a little clunky. Flaviano's illustrations are nicely detailed and colored, and many of the panels of the setting have a textured appearance. Teen readers who love the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise will enjoy a series dedicated only to Groot. Fans of Doctor Who, who enjoy time- and space-bending and a melting pot of species, may find a new series to follow.--Temple, Suzanne Copyright 2018 Booklist"
