Published Reviews
Booklist Review: "It's no secret what preschoolers will find lurking in the pages of the Dinosaurs series, each volume of which examines one type of dinosaur. Here young readers can learn about when the dinosaur lived, its body and diet, and where its fossils have been found. Though Iguanodon presents contradictory information about whether this plant-eating dinosaur walked on two or four legs, readers will enjoy the fact that scientists used to think the creature's thumb spikes were small horns. Written for beginning readers, the text never more than a few lines is printed over a faded image of dinosaur bones, while an illustration dominates each two-page spread (either a digitally created scene or a photo of a museum display, model, or fossil). Hansen's writing strikes a nice balance between simple and scientific, incorporating weights and measurements and words like Cretaceous and sauropod; however, no pronunciation key is given. Each book ends with an informative More Facts section and a well-worded glossary.--Smith, Julia Copyright 2017 Booklist"
