Summary

Fun-loving, mischievous Fox from Fox and the Jumping Contest is back in this charming and hilarious tale of friendship, adventure--and snacks.

It's the day of the animals' annual bike ride, and Fox is not excited. Every year it's the same old, same old.

Fox wants adventure.

He wants action-adventure.

He wants danger-action-adventure!

(And snacks too, of course.)

So he secretly schemes to make this the most unforgettable trip ever--and his friends are coming along, whether they want to or not!

Published Reviews
Booklist Review: "Fox's friends can barely contain their excitement for that afternoon's Annual Tour de Tip-Top, Slow-and-Steady, There-and-Back bike ride (plus snacks). Fox, on the other hand, is less enthused because everything about this tradition is boring, except for the snacks, of course. He craves a ride filled with excitement and danger, so he takes matters into his own paws. Readers familiar with Fox and the Jumping Contest (2016) know Fox is clever and crafty (in an engineering sense), and he builds a tandem bike that all the animals can ride, with one important modification: a big, red button. Snacks packed and helmets on, the friends unwittingly pedal toward a thrilling adventure triggered by Fox's mystery button. Tabor's amiable illustrations created with watercolor, colored pencil, and ink favor sky blues, grassy greens, and vulpine reds. Paneled scenes mix with double-page spreads, conferring a kinetic energy to the story that propels readers through the rapidly changing landscape, and the text often swirls and dips to mimic the bike's motion. The spirit of camaraderie is high in this energetic, entertaining tale.--Smith, Julia Copyright 2017 Booklist"
