Summary
When the death of his mother brings pioneering psychologist Nathan Appleby and his wife Charlotte back to his family's estate in an isolated Somerset valley, strange and inexplicable events begin to revolve around the increasingly troubled Nathan. His beliefs that a rational, scientific explanation is available for all of life's mysteries are put to the ultimate test as he is confronted with one disturbins case aftr another.
