Published Reviews
Booklist Review: "With a bouncy, rhyming text, this charming read-aloud from a popular author-illustrator duo (Dog Tales, 1995) encourages interaction between a caregiver, a toddler, and the world around them. Throughout, their affectionate relationship is evident the two dance together ( Let's go, baby-o, / you and me. / To the wibble, / To the wabble, / To the cha-cha-cha ) and also sit cozily beside the window, watching the people, animals, and happenings outside. During these quieter times, there's a refrained question and response; for instance, cousin says, Look out the window. / What can you see? and the child responds, Baby birds, noisy! Cheerful, cartoonish line-and-watercolor illustrations set the pair's activities against plain backgrounds, which contrast busy outdoor garden spreads. Alternating active moments with calmer visual explorations will keep interest and engagement high for young listeners, while repetition, including the phrase Let's go, baby-o, provides comforting predictability. The text invites imaginative interpretation and an author's note suggests ways to enhance engagement between toddlers and the outside world.--Rosenfeld, Shelle Copyright 2010 Booklist"
