Published Reviews
Booklist Review: "Each book in the Fall and Winter Holidays series features a child narrator describing his or her holiday preparations and experiences. This personal narrative is enhanced with side graphics that include general facts, such as People have worn costumes at Halloween time for many years. Some of the earliest costumes were made from animal skins. The content walks a careful line between respect for religious traditions and noting that religions often adopted earlier traditions. The newer holiday of Kwanzaa is featured in Kevin's Kwanzaa, capturing the enthusiasm of a child waiting for his turn to light a candle on the final night. The large, square-sized, cheery illustrations are clear enough to be viewed by groups. New readers can also appreciate the back matter, which includes a simple craft.--Dove Lempke, Susan Copyright 2010 Booklist"
