Patrick Henry Hughes was a talented musician who always wanted to be a part of something bigger than him. He dreamed of one day joining the University of Louisville marching band, but there was one problem: Patrick Henry was born without eyes or the ability to walk. Before he was born, his father Patrick John had his own goals of athletic glory for Patrick Henry. Now, will he be willing to truly sacrifice to help his son achieve his dreams?
I Am Potential is based on the inspiring true story of Patrick Henry Hughes. Patrick Henry was born without eyes and his joints didnt form properly, keeping him from ever walking. This is the story of how a father learned to sacrifice all of his own dreams and plans for the sake of his son. At his home in Louisville, Kentucky, Patrick Henry continued to face opposition. While his father worked to provide for the expensive procedures, Patrick Henry dreamed of one day becoming a member of a real marching band. Patrick Henry had to fight all the odds to become an accomplished pianist, trumpet player and singer. The Hughs familys story reminds us all to look at the things we have rather than the things we dont, as we all try to reach our God-given potential.
