Published Reviews
Booklist Review: "This attractive introduction to, you guessed it, thunder and lightning takes advantage of the book's horizontal trim to provide fine, color photos of thunderstorms as well as diagrams depicting the formation of lightning and the time difference between sight of lightning and the sound of its thunder. Photos and related design elements take up two-thirds of each double-page spread, leaving plenty of white space surrounding the two to four brief lines of large-print text. The writing concentrates on the facts more than the audience. Hansen defines the terms static electricity and stepped leader in the glossary, but then by using the term electric charge, which is not discussed or defined at all. Still, teachers will appreciate the book's short text and large illustrations. From the Weather series, this volume is well suited for sharing with groups.--Phelan, Carolyn Copyright 2015 Booklist"
