Summary

Booklist Review: "Thank Tom Hiddleston, whose charming and complex portrayal of the evil Loki in Marvel's recent movies has generated most of the character's current popularity and paved the way for this engaging new series. Seeking to escape the burden of his lying, cheating, murdering past, Loki has been reborn as a YA-friendly teenager (inasmuch as an immortal can be a teen), and he now serves as a secret agent of sorts for Asgard. Rendering both intrigue and comedy on an appropriately mythic scale, Ewing sews multiple genres together seamlessly into one adventure mash-up of espionage, sword-and-sorcery, and superhero stories. Loki's theft of a legendarily heroic sword and his effort to find out how his Asgardian overseers are gaming him is crowded with twists and turns, but the character's struggle against his own dark nature imbues the ne'er-do-well with a sense of embraceable, even lovable humanity.
