Collegiate couple Grace and Jim hit the road in their 1970 Oldsmobile 442, en route to spring break. Their pleasure trip soon turns into a terrifyng nightmare after encountering a mysterious hitchhiker John Ryder (The Hitcher). The open road becomes a battleground of blood and metal as they are tormented by the psychotic hitchhiker who forces them to face their fears head-on.
