The Collards and the Vendervents are middle-class toymakers who live in the respectable splendor of Albert Villa in the London suburb of Blackheath. Follow them through family discord, mystery, romance, and murder.
Set in turn-of-the-century England, this miniseries focuses on the Collards, a middle-class family of toy makers who live in a viper's nest of ambition, adultery, and deceit, ruled by a coldhearted and domineering matriarch. Everyone has a motive for wanting nearly everyone in the clan dead, which is exactly what one of them sets out to do.
