With minimal text and lots of captioned pictures, each double-page spread focuses on a single topic--the ship's construction, predictions of the dire end awaiting the voyage, safety lessons learned from the disaster, etc. There are also comparisons among the accommodations for first-, second-, and third-class passengers; a dramatic re-creation of the moments leading up to and following the collision; and insight into how the confusion and lack of preparedness caused many people to perish unnecessarily.
