Summary
A young teenager, Astrid, journeys through a series of foster homes after her mother goes to prison for committing a crime of passion. Ingrid, the mother, tries to give her the power to survive, but all Astrid wants is to teach her mother to love.
Astrid, the daughter, is left to move from foster home to foster home after her mother, Ingrid, murders the man who broke her heart with the poison from her favorite flower, the white oleander.
