Published Reviews
Booklist Review: "Gr. 4^-6, younger for reading aloud. Eye-popping photos and breezy, informative text are combined in this introduction to Australia with an animal focus. Written in second person, the narrative introduces habitats and species by placing readers at the center of the action: "Suddenly, you stop in your tracks: Ghhrruuuur . . . That sound! Is it a monster? No, though it is a devil--a Tasmanian devil." Excellent color photos accompany brief descriptions of each animal, and a final factual spread includes maps and notes about the land and people. As with other titles in the Destination series, there probably isn't enough information here for report writing, but young readers who flip through this for its striking images of Australia's unique animal world will pick up plenty of facts along the way. --Gillian Engberg"
