Published Reviews
Booklist Review: "Gr. 2-3. Franklin, one of the single most important individuals in developing the dependent colonies into a fledgling, independent nation, was a multifaceted, multitalented individual and is worthy of biographical treatment at every reading level (see Meltzer, below). Writing for the Rookie Biography series, Greene overcomes the constraints of vocabulary and brevity to introduce the salient points in Franklin's life as a printer, philosopher, scientist, inventor, and eminent statesman. The text appears in well-spaced, large print with generous use of margins; historical engravings and full-color illustrations add visual interest. The time line functions as an effective summary in this appealing presentation for primary students. -- Phillis Wilson"
