Published Reviews
Booklist Review: "Something of an instant, or at least a Shake' N' Bake, book, this is a set of profiles of 16 younger male country music stars that Bego cobbled together from magazine articles. The link between these guys, other than that to untutored ears their music all sounds the same, is that they're supposed to be "hunks"--male pinups, beefcake, that is. Somehow, Garth Brooks and Dwight Yoakum are among the 16 (so're expectables like Billy Ray Cyrus and Clint Black) and Marty Stewart isn't--go figure. Definitely light reading (kinda weird, too: Bego seems to think that country music's roots are in bluegrass, but if he means the musical genre instead of the plant, he's dead wrong), definitely for light-reading young country fans. ~--Ray Olson"
